… that today is the anniversary of the Spruce Goose Flight? The world’s largest wooden plane, the 200-ton Spruce Goose, was flown by billionaire Howard Hughes over Long Beach harbor on November 2, 1947. At that time, it was the world’s largest airplane ever flown. It only flew that one time.

  1. Thanks for the retweet. Pity I couldn’t post the shots from inside the museum (those belong to my cousin), but I must say it was a really fun visit. Far more interesting than I even imagined (not being much of a plane buff myself.)
